Discussion Groups

These six discussion groups will include a dedicated group to those interested in the Graduate Certificate of Business Management (Fleet Management).

Workshop 1

The Challenge To Change by Darren Wishart

An interactive workshop encouraging participants to examine their own driving behaviour, organisational processes and safety assumptions. It will explore some of the myths associated with work related road safety and provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on current work related road safety within their own organisation. It will also provide participants with the necessary tools to encourage their drivers to adopt safer road user behaviours.

Workshop 2

Scenario Planning by Tim Roberts

An outline of Scenario Planning followed by a hands on workshop that demonstrates approaches to planning for specific issues

Workshop 3a

Fleet Fundamentals by Stewart Whyte

A workshop looking at ways to align the management of the organisation's fleet with the 'needs of the business'. Participants are encouraged to bring their organisation's strategic plan and objectives with them to facilitate discussion about how decisions regarding fleet operations can align with those objectives

Workshop 3b

Fleet Fundamentals by Stewart Whyte

Back to Basics: you can only know where you're going if you know where you've been. What should fleet operators measure to enable them to make sound planning decisions? Is there a better way to do things and how do you know what that is and what the benefits will be for your fleet?

Workshop 4 (sponsored by Motorpass)

Asset Management by Rob Wilson

This workshop is designed to equip delegates with key information and tools to consider their Fleet Management operation within a holistic Asset Management framework and enable them to preprare a Fleet Strategy.

Workshop 5

Benchmarking Your Way To Cost Savings by John Boland

How to measure your fleet's performance, put it in context with similar fleets and best practice, and understand how to measure the gaps and turn it into strategy.

Workshop 6a

Fleet Safety Audit Tool and Safety Benchmarks by Lori Mooren

Designed for fleet operators who have completed the Fleet Safety Audit Tool and /or AfMA's Accident Benchmarking. Work through how to perform a gap analysis and how to address the areas where improvement is needed.

Workshop 6b

Fleet Safety Audit Tool and Safety Benchmarks by Lori Mooren

A hands on approach to the Fleet Safety Audit Tool - work through the self-assessment tool discussing the issues as you go. Delegates are encouraged to bring their current safety data for this practical workshop.

Discussion Groups

Groups are organised according to similar interests and needs. These are somewhat informal sessions allowing delegates to reflect on the information they've learned over the previous two days as well as provide a final opportunity to network with those who are in similar situations and have similar requirements of them as Fleet Managers.
