South Australian Professional Development Forums
The Australasian Fleet Management Association organises a Professional Development Forum program for South Australia throughout 2017. This event kicks off with lunch and follows with discussions on topics chosen by the Chapter Committee based on members needs. They are an ideal way of staying abreast of topical issues, networking with fellow fleet managers, connecting with potential clients, entertaining and reaffirming existing clients or taking the first step in discovering what it is like to be an AfMA Member. We encourage you to contact the office if you have any questions about this event.
Who Should Attend
Fleet managers, fleet coordinators, fleet administrators and any individual working to manage an organisation's vehicles. You should also bring your upper management team, so they'll be aware of the issues you face and need to plan for in the future.
Topic 1 - Come and hear from City of Adelaide – Electric Vehicle Charging Services and Zero Emission Fuels
Presented by Peter Nattrass
There are many barriers preventing the roll-out of electric vehicle recharging infrastructure in Australia and around the world. EV parking spaces are being under-utilised and higher electric demand charges are seeing the technology rejected in parts of Australia and around the world.
What is being done to encourage the use of electric vehicles within Adelaide? Are EV’s or hybrids currently viable for the average fleet manager?
Peter will share of the work currently being rolled out to improve the negative stigmas attached to EV’s. Come hear how a key Adelaide initiative will see 30 fast EV recharging stations rolled out in Council's UPark car parks across the city.
The ICE to EV parking system will couple existing commercially available technologies to:
1. handle EV demand and availability based on real-time demandsby sensing parking space occupancy and then assign parking spaces using overhead indicator lights as either EV only or all customers;
2. minimise electricity network charges by using alternative energy sources drawing upon future onsite battery energy storage coupled with solar PV; and
3. provide contactless activation and payment system for EV energy services.
This is a must attend session for any fleet manager wanting to add or expand their commitment to electric vehicles within their fleet!
