New South Wales Professional Development Forums
The Australasian Fleet Management Association organises a Professional Development Forum program for New South Wales throughout 2017. This is our third and final event for the year and will kick off with morning tea/networking and then we will focus on the key issue of costs to motor vehicle insurance which includes a short presentation. This will be followed with a demonstration by experts from the research centre and finally there will also be time for your questions to be answered on safety and repairs costs.
Who Should Attend
Fleet managers, fleet coordinators, fleet administrators and any individual working to manage an organisations vehicles. You should also bring your upper management team, so they'll be aware of the issues you face and need to plan for in the future.
How much is your fleet insurance really costing you?
Insurance is a major cost of motor vehicle ownership. Around one million vehicles are involved in collisions in Australia each year and these incidents result in considerable costs to the community in terms of personal injuries and property damage.
The IAG Research Centre works with vehicle manufacturers to carry out physical testing and data analysis to help contain the cost of comprehensive motor insurance. Advice is also provided to consumers on car safety issues and technical information is supplied to the body repair industry.
IAG welcomes AfMA members and guests to discuss the results of its new vehicle evaluations and to consider the latest developments in automotive risk reduction.
Also IAG will conduct a share few demonstrations;
- A vehicle crash test to explain the effect that bumper design has on the cost of repairing body damage.
- An Autonomous Emergency Braking test, to show how low speed impacts can be avoided through technology
- A dynamic 3D virtual-reality simulator to illustrate the benefits of safety features in modern vehicles. Selected members of the audience will be offered the opportunity to wear a headset and take a ride.
Anthony Boddy, Motor Research Manager and Chris Emerson, Senior Information Specialist will share the research in a presentation and this will be followed with a workshop tour and demonstrations by Oliver Klaus, Technical Director of the IAG Research Centre and James Thomson, Engineering Manager.
