    With tax reform on the agenda, the Association urges State and Federal Governments to review the FBT legislation as well as stamp duties for motor vehicles with a view to encouraging improved safety and environmental practices as well as reducing the cost and compliance burden for organisations.

  • 2013 AfMA Fleet Safety Award

    The winner of the AfMA 2013 Fleet Safety Award is Visionstream Pty Ltd. Visionstream provides telecommunications and ICT services across Australia and New Zealand, focused on design, construction, operations and maintenance for carriers, government, channel partners and enterprise industry segments. With fleet size expanding from 312 in 2010 to 737 in 2013 and travelling over 11 million kilometres per year a systems approach was initiated to control fleet operations.

  • 2013 AfMA Fleet Environment Award

    The winner of the AfMA 2013 Fleet Environment Award is The Tasmania Department of Health and Human Services.

    The Tasmanian Government has legislated that it will aim to deliver a 60% reduction on 1990 greenhouse emissions by 2050. Within the Tasmanian public sector the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is the largest employer with over 12,000 staff, has the largest vehicle fleet and in turn is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases (41%).

  • 2013 AfMA Fleet Manager Of The Year

    The winner of the AfMA 2013 Fleet Manager of the Year Award is Michael Giardullo from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. With a fleet of 3,651 vehicles Australia wide substantial savings and efficiencies were realised via a comprehensive review and redesign of the organisation’s purchasing, vehicle optimisation, asset utilisation and system performance measures.

  • FBT Remains Unfinished Business

    For some time the Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA) has been concerned that the current Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) system is directly at odds with the efficient and effective management of an organisation’s transport operations.

    In congratulating the newly elected Coalition Government, we trust it will hold true to its promise to not proceed with the previous Government’s proposed changes regarding FBT.
